Annual Meeting of Council, followed by a Parish Council Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Council is a full council meeting held in May where the election of the Chairman of the Council is the first item of business. In 2023, this must be held after the Parish Council Elections on Thursday 4th May. New/re-elected councillors take/re-take office 4 days after the Election Day. This would usually be Monday 8th May but in 2023 that is a Public Holiday in honour of HM King Charles III’s coronation so they will take office on Tuesday 9th May. The Annual Meeting of Council has to be held on or within 14 days of them taking office.
This Annual Meeting will be followed immediately by a normal Parish Council Meeting.
The Agendas for both Meetings will be available from the ‘Agendas & Minutes’ page by Friday 5th May 2023 at the latest and, if necessary, will be circulated to all those standing for election to the Parish Council because the results of the Election may not be known by that date.
